OK, so, perhaps my entry yesterday was a bit dramatic. After 12 hours of sleep and a shower things aren't looking all THAT bad.
I'm gonna hole up at Trident with a book, my mp3s and a chai and just veg for a bit. And I swear if anyone but the waitress tries to talk me they're gonna get a pointy shoe in the ass. he he

    <lj:music>The soundtrack to You've Got Mail</lj:music>

That's right folks. It's 7:30 on January 1, 2005 and so far my New Year has consisted of the following:

1 waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too large tequila shot
2 girlfriends who can't hold their liquor or their lunch
1 text-from-the-ex
1 greasy hangover brunch complete with bed-head and bloody marys
1 "another time, another place" speech
1 looooooooooooong walk of shame
427 (approximately) minutes of single-female-self-pity

BUT it could be worse. I could be my roommate's friend's boyfriend who JUST got out of bed, may still be drunk, and definitely has alcohol poisoning. However he will feel better tomorrow, and I will still feel like this. Sweet.

So far 2005 is shaping up to be just like 2004. YAY!!!!!!!

So today my mother emailed me this, accompanied by a photograph of a guy with a big old mountain man beard and a straw cowboy hat:

"Age 31, VP of technology at I-don't-know-the-name-of-the-company, 6' 3" tall, musician (bass), fabulous cook, son of one of my customers, who would be the best mother-in-law possible. He is interested in meeting you. Does your mother love you or what?"

I know she really (yes, really) thinks she's being helpful, but what?!!! Apparently I'm an old maid at 25 and the mommy-matchmaker circuit is on to me. Will any kind soul offer asylum to a marked gal?

Everyone in my office is sick. EVERYONE. We are a bunch if coughing, sniffing, freaks. Robitussin is a hot commodity, and Kleenex has become a form of currency. "I'll give you a half-day on Friday if you give me that tissue..."

I blame the older ladies with kids. They bring it home from school, get mommy sick, and mommy sneezes on ME and I get sick. Thanks mommy.

And no, I will NOT have that report to you by the end of the day because I am too busy trying to keep my respiratory tract from failing completely. HA.
